INGLOT (Review): Breathable Nail Enamel

Are you a nail polish lover? Are you the type who jumps from one brand to another until you find the perfect formula that suits you? Well look no further because INGLOT might just be your new favorite brand.

What is INGLOT? It is a breathable nail enamel (A.K.A. breathable nail polish) that let’s water and oxygen pass through the nails to keep your nails in its best shape and form as well as promoting healthier nail growth. Personally, with that statement alone it already intrigued me as from past usage from different brands would always leave my nails in a dry state after removing the color as well as some hint of yellow residue sometimes (blergh).

Also, what makes INGLOT stand out even more is that it is not animal tested.

Recently, my sister purchased one just to see what all the hype was about. From the bottle, the color looked more pinkish than I would’ve liked it to be because of the obvious pink undertone. However, once I applied the color on my nails, it looked more like a red wine color with a slight pink undertone instead of a dreadful pinky-red color that I thought it would turn out to be (no offense to pink color loving readers).

The price of this nail polish is definitely not on the cheap side. I don’t know, do you consider RM62.00 ($14.99)cheap? Well if you do, then I guess I’m the cheapskate…

As for the nail polish application, with one coat only, the color tuned out to be a pretty bright pink which almost confirmed my nightmares, but then after applying a second coat, that reddish color began to appear, and overall made the color opaque. The nail polish takes around 1 – 2 minutes to fully dry. Once it was dried up, the color turned into a nice red wine color with just a slight pink undertone which I didn’t mind. So this is how the color turned out.

The color lasted a solid 5 days before it started to look pretty ugly from the major chipping, which was pretty impressive for me since I am pretty rough with my hands in general.

If you’re wondering what the name of the color is, its called 625. Now some people may not like this method of naming products, but personally I don’t really care.

So how breathable is this nail polish? Is it wudu friendly for our Muslim sisters? Well, INGLOT performed their own little test after much inquiry to see if water can get through the polish.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNICpXSWd00&noredirect=1#t=94

The results were pretty impressive as water penetrated through the polish. However, there are still some who are skeptical about the results, but not to fret as there are some at-home tests you can conduct on your own. You can google on the interwebs if you want to know more regarding on how to conduct the test.

Also keep in mind that: “The permeability may be affected by wearing more than one layer [e.g. a base coat, top coat, etc.] so make sure to either test permeability or wait until Inglot releases the tests that they are currently conducting before using multiple layers.”

If you want to read more about the polish and whether it is super wudu friendly or not, then I recommend you checking this website out: http://www.suhaibwebb.com/personaldvlpt/worship/prayer/is-breathable-nail-polish-sufficient-for-wu%E1%B8%8Du/

Overall, I’m impressed by the product and I would recommend it to other nail polish users.

I give this product an 8/10
