The Element of Luxe by JEWELUXE

When it comes to fine jewelry, it’s hard for me to say ‘no’. The word ‘no’ suddenly disappears from my vocabulary. The only way I can say no is by saying “I’ll think about it…” and truthfully, I would really think about that piece of jewelry until my heart aches because in the end, I know I would not be able to have it in my collection (yet).

Recently, A Journey Through Time X held its weeklong exhibition featuring designers and jewel/watch makers from all over the world. One of the many curated events I had the pleasure to attend was by JEWELUXE – a fine gems and jewels pop-up gallery showcase. In the world of JEWELUXE, boundaries do not exist. From one-of-a-kind jewels with rare dazzling gems to avant garde pieces that would grab anyone’s attention far and near. If you love the finer things in life, well my friend, you have come to the right place.

A total of eight jewelry makers/distributors graced Kuala Lumpur with their beautiful collections. From Europe to Asia and America, there were no borders in this gallery to stop you from exploring the world’s finest gems. From simple, timeless pieces by Hans D. Krieger (Germany) and ZYDO (Italy) to show-stopping designs by Paolo Costagli (USA) and Simone Jewels (Singapore), it was jewelry heaven.

With an abundance of sparkle and dazzle, there were only a few pieces that truly spoke to my heart. Take this peacock earring by Infiniti Jewels (Singapore). A beautiful piece features sapphires, emeralds and diamonds. You can’t really go wrong with this piece to be honest.

Speaking of rings, can we take a moment to appreciate this mammoth of a beauty? A beautiful piece that mimics the ocean and all of its glory, this Karen Suen (Hong Kong) piece truly perfected the whole ‘art imitating life’ thing with this piece.

I have a confession, I love gold. The smell of it, the taste of it, the texture of it…

Okay, not really on that last sentence, but I really do love gold. There’s something about gold that has always fascinated me as a child. Take this hand woven gold bracelet and ring by Renee Jewellers (UAE) for example. It had me really contemplating on taking out a loan there and then because all I could think about was how much they needed to be with me.

The craftsmanship found on each piece is beyond words. Just look at this bracelet for example, clean and simple from afar, but when you look closer, the details are mesmerizing.

This last piece has had me dreaming about it since I first saw it. It has been almost two weeks now, and I still dream about CHAVANA’s (Thailand) collection. Before I unveil that last piece, here are a few Edwardian inspired jewels that were too beautiful for words. This tanzanite ring had me feeling all King Louis/Marie Antoinette like.

However, what topped the cake (get the pun?) were these two pieces. An Egyptian inspired diamond ring and bracelet covered in sapphires, rubies, and emeralds. In an instant, my right arm was worth more than my actual net worth.

I hope I have caused you to become insatiably thirsty for these jewels now. If you decide to buy some, please buy one for yours truly. Thank you.

Now, if you will excuse me, I am going to go into a dark corner and cry my eyes out.
